There is still time to make this year's International Short Film Festival of Cyprus part of your week. Its 16th edition runs at Limassol's Rialto Theatre from 10 to 16 October 2026. For anyone joining after opening night, the remaining evening screenings run from Sunday 11 to Friday 16 October, starting at 20:00.
Start with a night you can keep free
You do not need to follow the whole festival. Pick an evening, read that day's programme and leave the rest of the night open. Short films come in a sequence: the length of one title is not the length of your visit. Check the full session before making a late dinner booking.
Two ways into the programme
For a Cypriot thread, Monday 12 October includes Constantinos Nikiforou's Salt and Christos Artemiou's Kinds of Fathers. Thursday 15 October includes Cinema Rialto, Antony Petrou's 15-minute animation. These are starting points for choosing a programme, not reviews or a ranking. Read the organisers' synopses to decide what interests you.
Choose your date before buying
A day ticket is €5; the organisers also advertise a €25 festival pass. Select the correct date on the official ticket page and check availability. If you want the pass, confirm how to obtain it with the box office. For one or two evenings, individual tickets keep the commitment small.
Check language and admission
Films are shown in their original languages with English and Greek subtitles; Russian subtitles are not advertised. Students with a valid student card and disability card holders qualify for free admission. Ask the box office about the reservation process if using an exemption. The main screenings are for ages 18 and over.
Save the theatre, then plan the journey
Rialto is at Heroes Square, on Andrea Drousioti Street. Save the map below and allow time to find your entrance and seat. For ticket questions, the box office number is 77 77 77 45. If you need wheelchair seating, contact the theatre before booking so the visit fits your needs.
Keep a little of the evening unplanned
Invite someone who likes discussing a film afterwards, or go alone and choose one title to look up later. For another outing, see our coffee guide. Join WGO's free newsletter below for five practical ideas for your Limassol weekend when the first edition launches.
