Limassol Municipality scheduled the 2026 Wine Festival for 26 September–4 October at the Municipal Gardens. With those dates now behind us, we would take the next wine outing beyond the city. The useful link is already in the festival programme: it included events in the surrounding villages. This archive guide follows that connection into a small, manageable day out, starting with one village and one winery appointment.
What the 2026 programme connected
The published programme combined wine with concerts, traditional dance, theatre and activities for children. It also named two village dates: Arsos on 27 September and Ayios Mamas on 4 October. Both are past events. For a reader planning a trip now, their value is the connection they make between Limassol and its countryside. Keep the old programme as a record of that edition; its tickets and festival transport arrangements are not current offers.
Choose Omodos or Arsos as your starting point
The official Krasochoria of Lemesos wine route includes Omodos and Arsos, as well as Koilani and Vouni, on the southern slopes of Troodos. We would choose one village as the anchor for the day, then find a winery visit that works around it. Save the village and the winery separately on your map: a village pin is not the entrance to a producer's premises. Allow time for a walk and a meal, with a second stop only if it fits comfortably. The full wine route is a menu of possibilities, not a checklist to complete in an afternoon.
Book the visit before building the itinerary
Contact your chosen winery directly with the date and the size of your group. Ask whether it offers a tour, a tasting or simply a shop visit, and confirm the price and language. Those are different experiences and need different amounts of time. Check the exact entrance and parking instructions before setting off. If someone in the group needs step-free access, ask about the tasting room as well as the route from the car. For a tasting day, arrange transport or choose a driver who will not drink. Being listed on a wine route does not establish a winery's opening hours or booking policy.
Keep another wine story for another day
Our Commandaria guide introduces Kalo Chorio and gives you a separate starting point for exploring local wine culture. Save it for another outing rather than adding more stops to this one. For a future Wine Festival visit, wait for a new official announcement before making plans around dates or transport.
